Metered-Dose Inhaler

Clinical Applications

A nebulizer chamber is used to collect medication from a metered-dose inhaler (MDI) and deliver it to the deep airways through oral or nasal inhalation.
Coordinating the timing and speed of drug inhalation can be challenging. Patients often inhale too quickly, resulting in increased negative pressure in the alveoli and closure of narrow airways.
This can hinder the medication from reaching the desired areas, especially in elderly individuals and infants.
