​​The pigtail drainage catheter, named for its curled and pigtail-like end, has been widely used in urological surgeries involving the kidneys, ureters, and bladder. Due to its soft and flexible material, it is resistant to bending and detachment, making it increasingly utilized in the treatment of pneumothorax. 

JX-type and ZW-type are suitable for the placement and drainage of fluid or pus in body cavities, such as bladder fistula and renal fistula.
